Flame made me watch Wong Kar Wai's As Tears Go By last night. It was an early film of his, not nearly as lovely as Chungking Express or In the Mood for Love. All gangster-ish and Miami Vice 80's. The subtitles were a wreck.
Two old lovers meet when ducking out of the rainy street:
"Oh, what a coincident!"
Big Brother Gangster yelling at his Little Brother Gangster:
"Linsten to me!"
and big buckets more. And also there were fish balls and violent mah-jhongg games.
And the lovely and strange Maggie Cheung.
And very little ice cream, and absolutely no Marianne Faithfull, much to my displeasure.
